PBSEval is a web-based application designed for use by district and state-level evaluation units focusing on school-wide positive behavior support (SWPBS). The purpose of PBSeval is to provide state and district evaluators with timely, accurate and targeted information that can be used to assess (a) if SWPBS is being implemented with fidelity, and (b) if implementation is associated to improvements for children. Thousands of schools across the United States have adopted (or are adopting) school-wide positive behavior support as an approach for improving the social culture, and increasing educational effectiveness. A central feature of SWPBS is the regular collection and use of data for decision-making. This emphasis on continuous evaluation extends beyond individual schools to districts, regions and states. Among the most effective ways to improve educational settings is to define clearly what outcomes are valued (e.g., academic success, social competence), and then regularly assess both those outcomes, and the use of practices that lead to those outcomes. PBSeval has been created to make that process feasible and useful.

The PBSeval system enables school districts and state evaluation units to monitor important measures of progress. Information is available in PBSeval only if the data have been entered into the www.swis.org or www.pbssurveys.org websites by local schools. School data also are available only if schools have given permission to have their data summarized for evaluation purposes.

Access to PBSeval is available through annual licensing agreements. Only those state or district individuals formally involved in SWPBS evaluation and impact assessment are eligible to request a license, and the license is provided only for the specific district or state evaluation unit. For
