Tary Tobin is a Research Associate in Special Education in the College of Education at the University of Oregon. Her current research interests include functional assessment; individualized positive support for students who have, or are at risk for, emotional and behavioral disorders; school discipline; staff development; parent education; alternative education; and the science of prevention as it relates to early intervention and educational programs.

She has been an elementary school teacher, an administrator of a home for seniors and adults with disabilities, and a director of a non-profit organization. With her husband, Dave, she has raised seven children, all of whom are either college students or college graduates.

Dr. Tobin works with schools and agencies to plan behavioral interventions, program evaluations, and ways to advocate for children and youth with disabilities and their families and teachers.
